SIMPLE PRESENT TENSE

        Definition
Is use to express habits, general truths, actions, emotions, and wishes.

Pattern
·         ( +) S + Verb I (s/es) + O
·         ( - ) S + do/does + not + O
·         ( ? ) Do/does + S + Verb I + O ?

Note : s/es => plus if subject are he, she, it
     Do => plus if subject are I, you, we, they
     Does => plus if subject are he, she, it


Verbal & Non-Verbal
1.   Verbal Sentences
·         ( + ) S + V1 (-s/-es) + object
·         ( -  ) S + do/does + not + V1 + object
·         ( ?  ) do/does + S + V1 + object ?

Example :
I buy some books.
I do not buy some books.
Do I buy some books ?

2.   Non-Verbal Sentences
·         ( + ) S +To be (am / is / are ) + ….
·         ( -  ) S + To be (am / is / are) + Not + …
·         ( ?  ) To be ( am / is / are ) + S + …. ?
Example :
     She is very happy.
         She is not very happy.
         Is she very happy ?




Adverb of time
·        Always
·        Never
·        Every
·        Often
·        Usually
·        Sometimes
Note :  
Verbs ending in –y :
The third person changes the –y to –ies
Fly = flies, cry = cries
Exception : if there is a vowel before the –y
Play = plays, pray = prays
