Defintion

Passive voice is the grammatical construction which the subject of a sentence or clause denotes the recipient of the action (the patient) rather than the perfomer (the agent). In the English language, passive voice is formed with an auxilary verb (usually get or be) plus a participle (usually the past participle) of a transitive verb.

Use of Passive Voice

        We use the passive voice when :

·         We want to make the active object more important.

·         We don’t know the active object.

·      Born

  When we speak about born people certain or event, we can make use of passive   shape ”to be born”.

  e.g.:  1. I was born in Palangkaraya city

        2. Their babies were born just two months ago.

·     Get

  Get involve the use of replaced to be at situation which something happened.

  e.g.:  1. Our flight got cancelled = Our flight was cancelled.

        2. I got paid today = I was paid today.
