        Definition

Kind of text to tells the reader a past event or experience in a chronological order.

Purpose

To retell past event or experience in the past to the reader.

General Structure

1.   Orientation

Which tells the readers who was involved in the story, what happened, where the story take place and when it happened. Actually in the first paragraph.

2.   A series of event

Which tells the sequence of events. These events are describing in a chronological order.

3.   Re-Orientation

Which is summarizes of the event.

Language Feature

·         Use simple past tense

(- ) S + did + not + Verb I + O

( ?) Did + s + Verb I + O ?

·         Using noun and pronoun

e.g. : he, David, we, his etc.

·         Using action verb

e.g. : went, spent, played etc.

·         Using of time conjunction

e.g. : and, but, after, when etc.

·         Using adverb and adverb of phrases

e.g. : in house, two days ago, yesterday etc.
